Winter Hair Care

If you’re like me, then not only are you mentally over winter, but your hair is already showing signs that its just tired this cold, dry weather. While we would all love to have our hair cooperate and do exactly what we want it to, it just doesn’t seem to work out that way, so of course naturally, we just need some winter hair care products to help us get there!

From products to help bring nourishment to your hair, to my favourite go-to brands to help you style it, below are some of my current faithful products that are giving my hair the tender love and care that it needs during the winter months. Some may say that March means that winter is almost over, but I know better than to think we don’t have a few winter storms to get over first!

Winter Hair Care1. Dove Dry Shampoo

During the winter I’m in so many hats and dealing with static, that my roots get more oily before my hair is even dirty. That is where dry shampoo comes in hand. I also enjoy creating different hairstyles, so because my hair doesn’t hold if it is newly washed, I try to get away with a little spray of dry shampoo! This Dove dry shampoo happens to be my favourite and really hasn’t disappointed.

2. Sephora Collection Deluxe Round Thermal Ceramic Brush

As much as I wish that I could just let my naturally frizzy and curly hair go wild in the winter, it’s something I just wouldn’t be able to do. That’s why when it comes to blow drying my hair, I love this round brush to help give my hair the volume, shine, and bounce I crave while minimizing the frizz.

3. Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

I am currently going through a faze where I don’t like the feeling of a tight ponytail or bun, so I’m finding new ways to wear my hair using these twisted bobby pins. They are also ideal for when your hair is full of static and you need to quickly wrap it up without a ponytail bump!

4. Live Clean Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner

Great hair begins in the shower, so this Coconut Milk duo has become my new go-to. The coconut oils in coconut milk, with their Vitamin E, lauric and capric acids, both moisturize and protect the hair and prevent breakage while sealing in moisture. If the coconut milk isn’t for you, then you really can’t go wrong with any of their shampoos and conditioners.

5. Wella Luxeoil Keratin Restore Mask

During the winter months, I rely heavily on masks to give my hair some extra love and nourishment. This Keratin Restore Mask reconstructs the hair fibre and repairs damage which is why I love that it leaves my hair light, bouncy and smooth when I’m ready to style it. It works best to apply to the hair in the shower and give it 5 minutes before washing it out!

6. Goody Bobby Pins

Do I really need to say? These babies are handy! Don’t ever underestimate a bobby pin and what it can do and create. I happen to like wearing the bobby pins for blonde hair and treat it as a styling piece rather than just using them to keep flyways at bay.

7. Kiss InstaWave Automatic Curler

While I tend to use a hair straightener to get my curls and waves, during the winter time I prefer to give my hair a break when I can from the harsh heat, so the Kiss Instawave curler is handy and so incredibly easy to use. You can easily create a soft curl without feeling like you are doing the damage.

8. Wella Luxeoil Keratin Boost Leave-In Conditioner

Once I tried this leave-in conditioner from Wella’s Luxeoil collection, I knew it was going to become routine for me. Not only does the leave-in consist of almond, argan and jojoba oils, it aims to strengthen the keratin and leave the
hair moisturized, while prepping your hair for styling and nicely creates a smoother finish.

9. Sebastian Shine Shaker

I find that during the winter months my hair is lacking that summer sunshine, so Sebastian’s Shine Shaker comes in handy when I desire that polished look. You simple spray into dry hair for a shiny, but not oily finish. You can also use with hot hair tools to protest hair from eat and keep a luminous shine.

10. Tangle Teazer Compact Styler

I fell in love with this compact hair brush a while ago, as you can see here. Not only is it small and convenient for unruly winter hair, but  it softly glides through the hair, minimizing breakage, splitting, and damage.
